A new article on Lintrack has been published on HowtoForge:

This tutorial will guide you through installation and configuration of Lintrack, a GNU/Linux distribution specialized in networking tasks. We will give two LANs access to the internet along with DHCP and DNS cache servers, and then we will connect our networks using OpenVPN in bridging mode. Lintrack 2.0 "Hockenheim" released! (Sun, 15 Oct 2006 13:15:00 +0000)

We are proud to announce that the first official version of Lintrack, version 2.0 codenamed "Hockenheim", has been released after almost two years of development and is available for download.

Lintrack is an open source operating system for computer network routers. It is based on Linux and integrates almost 150 open source software projects in one seamless administration system. Such high level of integration enables many unique features developed by our team exclusively for Lintrack and reduces network infrastructure maintenance costs.

Our system, while providing high-level administration interface, is still a common GNU/Linux distribution and an open source project supported by the community. Lintrack comes with great traditional system administration tools like ssh and vim, thus enabling possibilities of successive deployments and integration with existing software systems.

Stay tuned for the second release candidate of Lintrack 2.0, which is scheduled for 4th October. The final release of 2.0 version is planned really soon.

In next few days we will be extending our brand new wiki system and moving there some content from Trac.
